We would be amiss if we didn’t take a moment to note the passing of two
luminaries in the patchwork of a boomer’s life. This past week we lost
Mary Travers of Peter, Paul and Mary. I can still hear her clear voice
in the perfect three part harmony that shaped the folk-revival movement
of the 1960s. The soundtrack of Patrick Swayze’s 1987 movie, Dirty Dancing captured the boomer soul. We all closely identified with that movie. Patrick even contributed personally, singing “She’s like the Wind” with Wendy Fraser. The single reached #3 on the Billboard Hot 100. The jukebox playing the soundtrack of our lives is playing sad songs this week.
