Dean Poucher did not join him at WOLO and thus someone else played JP Sidewinder on WOLO. I don't know who it was though. Some don't realize that Cactus Quave was on the WOLO schedule for a few years after WIS. And I would love to know why Mackie left WIS-TV and Radio. Seemed like he had a pretty good deal there. If anyone knows, please chime in!RadioFanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08169272067999079903noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-118670556676075945.post-32584916794697662162017-07-10T11:56:08.391-07:002017-07-10T11:56:08.391-07:00Hi RebelDog, I became involved with Mackie, Dean, ...Hi RebelDog, I became involved with Mackie, Dean, Homer and the rest around 66. The only JP Sidewinder I ever knew was Dean. Jim Quick played Chief Sillyhorse. Maybe that is who you are thinking of.

Rick Rick Wrigleyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08325049481652713332noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-118670556676075945.post-45617130343267249792017-07-10T11:53:48.291-07:002017-07-10T11:53:48.291-07:00Hi Rusty - I'm already a member of that page. ...Hi Rusty - I'm already a member of that page. I met Mackie Quave at the Knights of Columbus in summer of 66 and had a long conversation about his TV show. He told me the name of Jp Sidewinder but I've forgotten it. He said JP hailed the Charleston area. I started Fall '76 in the final semester of the old carrier current station, which I couldn't pick up because I lived at Bates House. Then I was among the first with the low power FM. I was more interested in Top 40 and was getting on the nerves of those progressive purists, so I moved on. Worked at WXAP, the short-lived all-disco station they made from the old WNOK AM, which by then was at Garners Fy. Rd., co-located with the FM and TV (now WLTX). No longer in radio now, but I still have an interest in history. I set up a Facebook page called "S.C. Radio History Project." Feel free to visit, post, and spread the word!Ed Welchhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17525706644695680583noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-118670556676075945.post-1374462828638688642013-01-27T16:31:56.109-08:002013-01-27T16:31:56.109-08:00What a line up. It just goes to show how close knit the Broadcast Community is. By the way, Jane Pigg the owner and driving force behind your first station, WCRE, was presented with the Lifetime Achievement award Friday night at the SCBA Conference.
